Can a paid indexing service get your pages into Google faster?

Summary

Google's own options are free: a recrawl request through URL Inspection in Search Console, or a sitemap. Google says crawling can take days to weeks and that a request doesn't guarantee inclusion at all. Its Indexing API is limited to job postings and livestream pages, and IndexNow, the protocol many tools use, doesn't list Google among its participating engines, so the only legitimate routes to Google a paid service has are the same free ones you have.

The Indexing API has two allowed uses

Google's documentation says the Indexing API "can only be used to crawl pages with either JobPosting or BroadcastEvent embedded in a VideoObject." Everything sent through it goes through spam detection, and abuse, including using several accounts to get around quotas, can get access revoked. The default quota of 200 is meant for onboarding and testing; more needs Google's approval.

Even a successful call promises little. An HTTP 200 response "means that Google may try to recrawl this URL soon." Checking a notification's status only tells you the request was received, not when or whether the URL was indexed.

So a service that says it pushes ordinary blog posts or product pages through the Indexing API is using it outside the scope Google set.

IndexNow pings Bing and others, not Google

IndexNow's FAQ lists endpoints for Bing, Amazon, Naver, Seznam.cz, Yandex and Yep. A URL submitted to one is shared with every participating engine, and a single request can carry up to 10,000 URLs. The FAQ is also plain that a submission doesn't guarantee indexing, and each engine decides whether to crawl.

You don't need to pay for it. IndexNow is built into platforms including Shopify and Wix Studio, WordPress users can turn it on through plugins such as Yoast, AIOSEO and SEOPress, and Cloudflare sites can enable Crawler Hints. Ahrefs offers automatic IndexNow submission as a paid project boost add-on.

What you control for free

Owners and full users of a Search Console property can request indexing for URLs they manage. There's a quota on individual requests, and Google says asking again for the same URL won't make it faster. For large sets of URLs, the sitemap is the route. Each sitemap file can hold 50,000 URLs or 50MB uncompressed, and Google calls a submitted sitemap "merely a hint." Hosted platforms usually submit new pages to search engines on their own.
