How many websites can you track on one SEO tool plan?
Summary
It ranges from three sites on Moz Pro Standard to 40 on Semrush Advanced, and on Ahrefs there is no cap at all for sites whose ownership you verify. The catch is that each vendor counts something different, and only Moz lets you buy one more site at a time instead of moving up a plan. Keyword and crawl allowances don't grow with the site count, so more sites on the same plan means less for each one.
Semrush counts websites you monitor
Semrush's SEO and Starter plans cover five websites, Pro+ covers 15 and Advanced 40. Keyword tracking is a separate pool: 500 keywords tracked daily on SEO and Starter, 1,500 on Pro+ and 5,000 on Advanced.
There is no add-on for a single extra website. A sixth site moves you from SEO at $139 a month to Pro+ at $299, and a sixteenth from Pro+ to Advanced at $549.
Ahrefs counts unverified projects
Projects where you have verified ownership are unlimited on every Ahrefs plan. Unverified projects are capped at 5 on Lite, 20 on Standard, 50 on Advanced and 100 on Enterprise. If your clients can't give you verification access, those caps are the ones that apply.
Everything else stays fixed. Lite includes 100,000 crawl credits a month, a 25,000-page limit per project and 750 tracked keywords with weekly updates. Standard has 500,000 credits, 50,000 pages per project and 2,000 keywords. Spread Standard's 2,000 keywords across 12 client sites and each gets about 167.
Moz counts Campaigns
A Moz Campaign tracks one site or URL plus three competitor sites. Standard includes three Campaigns, Medium ten and Large 25, and extra Campaigns cost $10 a month each after you sign up.
That makes Moz the easiest to stretch. Twelve sites on Medium cost $179 plus $20, or $199 a month. Large, at $299, would give you 25 Campaigns, 3,000 tracked keywords instead of 1,500, and three user seats.
Plugins that bill per site
Some tools outside the big suites are also priced by site. Link Whisper, a WordPress internal linking plugin, sells yearly licenses for 1, 3, 10 and 50 sites at $97, $197, $297 and $497. Each site in a WordPress multisite network counts separately, so a 12-site portfolio needs the 50-site license.
