How many HubSpot Credits do the AI agents use, and what happens when a month's allowance runs out?

Verified 28 September 2026 · SaaS COMPASS

Summary

Breeze Assistant, HubSpot's chat assistant, comes with every subscription at no extra cost, but the AI agents run on HubSpot Credits. Paid plans include a monthly allowance of 500 credits on Starter and 3,000 on a Professional Hub. At 50 credits per resolved conversation, Customer Agent uses up the Professional allowance in about 60 conversations. More capacity costs $10 per 1,000 credits a month, and without it the agents pause until the allowance resets.

Two meters, one of them free

Breeze Assistant summarizes records and reports, preps you for meetings, and drafts text inside HubSpot. HubSpot's product page says it is "included with every HubSpot subscription at no additional cost," and it doesn't appear on the credit rate sheet. A few of its jobs still depend on your plan. Summarizing campaign performance needs Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise, and summarizing survey responses needs Service Hub Professional or Enterprise.

The agents are a different product. They live in Agent Hub, formerly Breeze Agents, which is included in every Starter, Professional, and Enterprise edition, and many of them draw down credits each time they act.

How big the allowance is

Smart CRM and the Marketing, Sales, Service, Content, and Revenue Hubs include 500 credits a month on Starter, 3,000 on Professional, and 5,000 on Enterprise. Data Hub and the Customer Platform bundle include 500, 5,000, and 10,000.

Allowances don't stack. An account with Sales Hub Professional and Marketing Hub Starter gets 3,000 a month, the highest single allowance, not 3,500. Credits reset monthly and unused ones expire. Only people on paid seats (Core, Sales, Service, or Revenue) and Partner Seats can use them, so free users and View-only users can't trigger a credit-based feature.

Costing a support desk

Say a company on a Professional Hub wants Customer Agent to handle 400 chats a month. That's 400 × 50 = 20,000 credits against an allowance of 3,000, a gap of 17,000.

Capacity packs. Each pack adds 1,000 credits a month for $10, so 17 packs cost $170 a month. The packs stay on the bill for the rest of your commitment term and can only be canceled or reduced when the term ends.

Pay as you go. Overage is billed monthly in arrears at $0.010 per credit, in increments of 10 credits, which also works out to $170 for 17,000 credits. HubSpot's help page adds two conditions: an account with only its included credits can't use overages, and only a Super Admin or Billing Admin can switch overages on.

Doing nothing. Once the allowance is spent, every credit-based feature pauses until the next reset date or until you buy more. HubSpot sends warnings at 75%, 85%, and 90% of usage.

Packs have one more wrinkle. If you have set up automatic upgrades and usage passes the limit you've bought, HubSpot adds another 1,000-credit pack automatically and keeps it for the remainder of the contract. HubSpot's own example is an Enterprise account with 5,000 included credits plus one pack: using 6,500 in a month raises its limit to 7,000 for the rest of the term.
