How much more does local SEO software cost for 20 locations than for one?

Summary

At 20 locations, Semrush Local runs $600 a month on its Base plan and $1,200 on Pro, because both are priced per location on annual billing. A single location can often get by on Google Business Profile's free performance data, which shows the search terms, calls, direction requests and website clicks the profile earned. Paid tools start to earn their fee when you want map rankings from many points around each store, or when listings and reviews for several locations need one place to live.

The per-location math

Semrush Local lists Base at $30 per location per month and Pro at $60, both billed annually. Five stores cost $150 or $300 a month; twenty cost $600 or $1,200. Base covers automated Business Profile management, AI-written posts, review auto-replies and 375 Map Rank Tracker credits. Pro adds listing management, review management and generation, and 1,225 credits. The page doesn't say how many grid points or keywords a credit buys, and it shows only annual prices.

SE Ranking folds local features into its regular SEO plans. Core ($129 a month, or $103.20 on annual billing) and Growth both include three locations, 1,500 keywords in the local and map rank tracker, and listing management across more than 100 directories. Extra locations are sold separately. The pricing table lists them "from $18.40" without saying whether that is a monthly or annual rate, so a 20-location total can't be worked out from the page. The same plan also covers keyword research and site audits, which the Semrush Local price does not.

BrightLocal prices its Track, Manage and Grow plans by the number of locations you manage, from 1 to 100+, with 25% off for annual billing. Track monitors 100 keywords and four competitors per location and draws a geo-grid map for up to five keywords. Manage adds listing sync and scheduled Business Profile posts; Grow adds review monitoring, replies and review requests by email or SMS. The platform lists the USA, UK, Canada and Australia as the countries it works in, and the trial runs 14 days with no card.

What one location gets for free

Once a profile is verified, Google reports searches, views, direction requests, calls, website clicks, messages and bookings. Those figures include activity from Google Ads as well as organic results. A viewer is counted at most once a day, and the search terms update at the start of each month and can take up to five days to appear.

Google also says plainly that "there's no way to request or pay for a better local ranking." It names relevance, distance and prominence as the main factors, and counts links to the business and the number of reviews toward prominence. What the free data can't tell you is where the store appears on the map for someone searching a mile away. That grid view is the main thing local rank trackers sell.
