Is SE Ranking a cheaper way than Semrush to track keywords every day?

Summary

For rank tracking volume, yes, by a wide margin. SE Ranking Core costs $129 a month and tracks 2,000 keywords daily across 10 projects; Semrush's SEO plan costs $139 and tracks 500 across five websites. Semrush closes the gap only on its higher plans, which also bring content and historical-data features that SE Ranking's entry plan isn't built around.

A thousand keywords a day

That workload fits inside SE Ranking Core. On Semrush, both the SEO and Starter plans stop at 500, so you'd move to Pro+ at $299 a month for 1,500. The difference is $170 a month.

What that $170 buys on Semrush is more than headroom. Pro+ is where the pricing page starts listing historical SEO data, content optimization, keyword cannibalization analysis and multi-location tracking.

A 25-site agency with three people

Semrush Pro+ covers 15 websites, so 25 sites means Advanced at $549. Each additional user on Advanced costs $100 according to Semrush's help center, which brings three people to $749 a month.

SE Ranking Growth costs $279 and already includes three manager seats, 30 projects and 5,000 daily keywords. Its Agency Pack adds 30 view-only client seats and white-label reporting for $69 a month, sold on annual billing only.

Paying for a year up front

SE Ranking's annual discount is 20%, billed up front: $1,238.40 for Core. Semrush advertises savings of up to 17%, and the SEO plan comes to $1,407.96 for the year.
