How big can your site be before Semrush Site Audit needs a pricier plan?

Verified 28 September 2026 · SaaS COMPASS

Summary

Site Audit has two ceilings: pages crawled per month and pages per single audit. Starter allows 100,000 a month and 20,000 per audit, Pro+ 300,000 and 20,000, and Advanced 1,000,000 and 100,000. A 15,000-page site audited weekly fits on Starter, the same site audited daily needs Advanced, and any site over 20,000 pages can only be crawled in one pass on Advanced.

The two ceilings

Semrush's help center lists Site Audit limits by SEO Toolkit tier, and Starter, Pro+, and Advanced include the Pro, Guru, and Business tiers respectively. The monthly allowance is 100,000 pages on Starter, 300,000 on Pro+, and 1,000,000 on Advanced. A single audit stops at 20,000 pages on the first two and at 100,000 on Advanced. You can run two audits at once on Starter or Pro+ and five on Advanced. A free account gets 100 pages a month.

Pages you do not use in a month are gone; they do not roll over. The pricing page lists Site Audit for the $139 SEO plan as well, but the help center does not say which tier's limits apply to it.

Frequency is what eats the allowance

Every crawl draws on the monthly allowance, so the number that matters is page count times audit frequency. Take an online store with 15,000 pages:

Weekly. Four runs is 60,000 pages, and a five-run month is 75,000. Starter covers it.

Twice a week. Eight or nine runs is 120,000 to 135,000 pages. That is past Starter's 100,000, so Pro+ at 300,000.

Daily. A 31-day month is 465,000 pages, past Pro+ as well. Only Advanced's 1,000,000 covers it.

On monthly billing, moving that store from weekly to daily audits takes the bill from $199 to $549.

Sites over 20,000 pages

On Starter and Pro+, one audit halts at 20,000 pages. You can narrow the crawl to a subdomain or a subfolder, so a 50,000-page site split into three sections under 20,000 pages each can be audited weekly on Pro+ for roughly 200,000 pages a month. Each section then comes back as its own report. Crawling the whole site in one pass takes Advanced.

Features that depend on the tier

JavaScript rendering, which lets the crawler read content that only appears once a page's scripts run, requires Pro+ or Advanced. AMP checks are Advanced only. The AI-ready Site Audit comes with Starter and above but not with the SEO plan, and the standalone AI Visibility Toolkit runs those AI search checks on up to 100 pages.
