Should SEO work be managed inside your SEO platform or in a separate project tool?
Summary
The sharing and reporting features in SEO software are there to show findings and numbers to other people. Assigning a fix and checking that it got done is a separate job, and it can live in whatever project tool or spreadsheet a team already uses. When client reporting is the core of the work, products such as AgencyAnalytics ($20 per client per month, billed annually) and SE Ranking's Agency Pack ($69 a month on top of a base plan, annual billing only) are built for it, and they price by client or project count.
Following one finding to the end
Say an audit flags 40 pages that share the same title tag. That's where the SEO tool's job pauses. Someone decides which pages to fix first, an editor or developer gets the task with a date, and after the change goes live the site is crawled again to confirm the duplicates are gone. The first and last steps happen in the SEO tool. The middle happens wherever your team already tracks work, and for a small site a shared spreadsheet handles it fine.
What client reporting costs
- AgencyAnalytics: $20 per client per month on annual billing, which comes with a one-year commitment. Unlimited staff and client users, white-label branding, a client portal and automated reports are included. Ten clients come to $200 a month, or $2,400 a year.
- SE Ranking Agency Pack: an extra $69 a month on top of a base plan, annual billing only. The 30-project tier adds 30 client seats, white-label platform and reports, and unlimited scheduled reporting. Added to Core at $103.20 a month billed annually, the total is $172.20 a month.
Who gets to see and change what
In Search Console, owners can view all data, change settings and add or remove users. Full users can view everything and take actions such as submitting a sitemap or removing a URL. Restricted users can mostly just view. Only owners can grant access, and a property can have up to 100 users who aren't owners. SE Ranking handles the same split with guest links for people who only need to look and paid seats for people who work inside the account.
