The conclusion first

Appy Pie is a no-code app builder: you assemble a mobile app from templates and features in a browser, and Appy Pie's team helps you publish it to Google Play and the Apple App Store. Its pricing page lists three self-serve plans, each priced per app per month in US dollars: Basic at $16, Gold at $36 and Platinum at $60, each shown next to a struck-through price twice as high ($32, $72 and $120). Only Platinum lists iOS, so an app that has to be on both iPhone and Android starts at Platinum. In the first year, that one app costs $844 at the displayed price: $720 for Appy Pie ($60 × 12), plus $99 for Apple's developer program and $25 for Google Play, which the pricing page says are not included. At the struck-through price the same year would cost $1,564 ($120 × 12 + $124). Disclosure

These are the figures on the pricing page as shown to a US visitor; from Japan the same page shows yen. The page does not say what the struck-through prices are, whether the lower price is a promotion or for how long it applies. Its FAQ says all plans come on a monthly or an annual basis, and the page contains a Yearly option labeled "Save upto 20%", but it is not shown and no yearly price is displayed. Check the total on the checkout page before paying. Prices exclude taxes, which are calculated at checkout.

The price is per app

The FAQ says you can create an unlimited number of apps, "but for each app you make, you need to have a separate subscription plan in place." Two apps on Platinum are $120 a month at the displayed price, not $60.

Costs that sit outside the plan price

Store accounts are yours to pay for. The pricing page notes that Apple charges a $99 annual developer fee and Google Play a one-time fee of $25, and that the plan prices do not cover them. So an Android-only app on Basic costs $217 in its first year ($16 × 12 + $25), and on Gold $457 ($36 × 12 + $25).

Usage above the plan's limit is billed. The FAQ prices extra app downloads at $0.009 each and extra push notifications at $0.001 each. At those rates, 1,000 downloads over the limit in a month would add $9.

No plan removes Appy Pie's branding. A white-label app, with no Appy Pie branding, comes with the Add-On Package, which the page describes as "2x your current app plan price" and which also includes a dedicated account manager. Ask whether that means the add-on costs twice the plan on top of the plan itself before you budget for it.

Help beyond onboarding is extra. The FAQ says a paid plan includes a maximum of three interactive sessions with a customer success manager; after that, each session costs $25 an hour with a minimum package of 10 hours. The terms of use list other one-off charges, including $99 each time you add or remove permissions in an Android build (section 1.9).

The free trial, renewals and refunds

The terms (last updated July 11, 2025) describe a 7-day free trial that collects your card or PayPal details up front. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription converts to a paid plan and is charged on the 8th day (sections 1.5 and 1.6). If you do not want to continue, you can request a full refund within seven days of that first charge; after that, subscription fees are final, and renewal fees are non-refundable once processed. Refunds are reduced by 3% of the refunded amount or the payment processor's actual fee, whichever is higher (section 1.6).

Subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. A cancellation takes effect on your next billing cycle, and there is no refund for early cancellation (section 1.3). Refunds also do not apply if an app store rejects your app (section 1.3), and the pricing page's FAQ says Appy Pie does not guarantee approval by Google Play or the Apple App Store.

What happens if you stop paying

The FAQ answers directly: once you cancel, your app is locked. You keep ownership of the app and its content, but Appy Pie may lock it for viewing, editing or updating when the subscription is cancelled (section 1.24). Failed payments step down rather than stop at once: after four failed attempts a yearly plan converts to monthly, then to weekly, and after four failures on weekly the subscription is cancelled and access is revoked (section 1.3). The terms are governed by Indian law, with disputes going to courts in New Delhi (section 1.25).

Who should not buy a plan yet

If your app must be on the Apple App Store but your budget is the $16 or $36 headline, the published plans do not cover iOS below Platinum, so price Platinum first. If you need several apps, the per-app price multiplies, so total the plans before you start. If you need your own branding throughout the app, no plan includes it, so get the Add-On Package price in writing. And if you are not sure the app will be approved by the stores, note that a rejection is not a reason for a refund under the terms; use the 7-day trial to build and test, and set a reminder for the day before the 8th-day charge.

What to actually do

Decide first where the app has to be. Android only, with no help needed for the first submission: Basic, at $16 a month plus Google's $25. Android only, with premium features or help with the first Google Play submission: Gold, at $36. iPhone, or both stores: Platinum, at $60 a month plus $99 a year for Apple and $25 once for Google, or $844 for the first year at the displayed price. Multiply by the number of apps, confirm on the checkout page whether the halved price applies and for how long, and cancel before the 8th day if the trial does not convince you.
