Is Cox Business phone service now just Spectrum?
Summary
Partly. Charter, which runs Spectrum, closed its purchase of Cox in August 2026, and Cox's small business phone page already calls the product Spectrum Business Voice. The IP Centrex hosted PBX and the Webex add-on still carry Cox Business branding, and neither shows a per-line or per-seat price. The only dollar figures on Cox's phone pages are the Webex upgrade tiers and a $15 monthly internet discount for bundling with RingCentral.
What the merger announcement covers
Charter announced on August 20, 2026 that its transaction with Cox Communications was complete. The subhead promises Spectrum's brand, pricing, and packaging in all Cox markets from mid-September, but the body text applies that rollout to consumers, including existing customers.
Business customers get one sentence about the combination of Spectrum Business with Cox Business. There is no date for renaming business products or changing their prices. Charter also plans to rename its parent company Cox Communications within a year while operating as Spectrum everywhere.
Page by page
- The phone hub is now titled "Cox is now Spectrum." Its one offer takes $15 a month off internet when you bundle it with Cox Business Connect with RingCentral Advanced, on a minimum 12-month term, with regular rates afterward and possible early termination fees.
- The small business phone page, formerly VoiceManager, is branded Spectrum Business Voice. No price appears, though the footnote still requires a minimum-term agreement and warns of early termination fees.
- The IP Centrex page is still Cox Business. Its pricing FAQ tells buyers to "contact one of our Cox Business representatives to customize your plan and ask about pricing."
- The Webex page is still Cox Business, and it is the only one with per-user prices: Basic is included with qualifying voice products, Standard is $9.99 a month, and Premium is $19.99.
The rebranded line service
VoiceManager was always the option for businesses that want to keep their analog desk phones, fax machines, and wiring, and the page still says so. The calling terms now read like Spectrum's own: unlimited long distance to the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada, 2,000 long-distance minutes a month to Mexico, and per-minute rates to more than 200 countries. Optional monitoring for elevator and fire alarm lines is listed too. If you end the agreement early, Cox says long-distance minutes may be re-rated.
IP Centrex and Webex
IP Centrex runs in Cox's network, so there is no PBX box on site. The page lists sequential ring, readable voicemail, hoteling, on-hold music, and calls with up to 15 participants, and availability is checked by street address and ZIP code.
Webex adds meetings and chat to IP Centrex seats and VoiceManager lines in select service areas. Meetings hold up to 25 people on Basic, 100 on Standard, and 300 on Premium, and recording with password protection comes only with Premium.
Spectrum's price guides don't reach Cox areas
Spectrum publishes business voice price guides for legacy Charter, Time Warner Cable, and Bright House Networks areas. None of the three covers former Cox territory, so a Cox location still gets its price from a quote.
