How much does it cost to call Mexico, the UK, India or the Philippines from a US business phone?

Summary

Most US business phone plans include calls to Canada and charge by the minute for everything else. The rate depends less on the country than on whether the number you dial is a landline or a mobile.

Mexico is the cheapest of the four: included at Ooma Office, $0.01 a minute at RingCentral, and up to $0.45 to a mobile at Nextiva.

UK landlines cost 1 to 4 cents a minute almost everywhere. UK mobiles run from $0.01 (Google Voice, on EE, O2, Vodafone and Three) to $0.575 at RingCentral and $0.58 at Nextiva, so 500 minutes a month comes to $5 at Google Voice and $290 at Nextiva.

India is 2 to 9 cents a minute, mobile or not.

The Philippines is the expensive one: 11 to 36 cents a minute, with mobiles costing a few cents more than landlines.

If you call abroad every day, a bundle can beat the meter. Microsoft's Domestic and International Calling Plan costs $17 a user a month more than the domestic plan and includes 600 international minutes, about 2.8¢ a minute if you use them all.

The per-minute rates, side by side

Price per minute for an outbound call from a US account, read from each provider's own rate table on October 5, 2026. Where the table gives one figure for the whole country it appears once. A range means the provider prices by the carrier that serves the number. “Not listed” means the country or line type is missing from that table.

These are the rates for calls made from a US account to a number in that country. They do not cover employees working abroad on the company's number; that is a different question, and Can employees use the company phone number while they're abroad? deals with it.

Quo never splits landline from mobile. It prints a range per country and says rates vary by carrier, which is why its UK figure stretches from $0.03 to $1.36. Before a big calling campaign to the UK on Quo, look up the carrier behind the numbers.

Dialpad's $0.47 is its general UK mobile rate. Its table gives $0.09 for mobiles on several named networks, among them Three, O2, Orange and T-Mobile. RingCentral has the same kind of split: $0.575 for most UK mobile ranges, $0.493 and $0.31 for a handful of others. Nextiva charges $0.42 for O2 mobiles and $0.58 for the rest.

RingCentral's table charges $0.042 a minute to landlines in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and a few other city codes, and $0.059 to mobiles, Mumbai and the rest of India. Nextiva's Mexico rate drops from $0.16 to $0.04 for Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey landlines.

Five hundred minutes is about 25 minutes every working day. The table uses the mobile rate because that is where providers differ most. For landlines, multiply the landline rate in the first table by 500.

The Philippines column is the one to watch if you work with an offshore support or bookkeeping team there. At $60 for Google Voice and $160–$180 for Quo, the international minutes can cost more than the seat itself.

When a bundle is cheaper than paying by the minute

Microsoft Teams Phone sells two US Calling Plans. The domestic one includes 3,000 outbound domestic minutes per user. The Domestic and International plan, at $17 more, comes with "3,000 outbound domestic or 600 outbound international calling minutes" per user per month, and Microsoft pools minutes across users on the same plan. Spread over 600 minutes, the extra cost is 2.8¢ a minute. That undercuts every Philippines rate in the first table and most UK mobile rates. It does not beat Google Voice to UK mobiles or India, or RingCentral to Mexico. Is the $10 Microsoft Teams Phone license enough to call regular phone numbers? explains what each Teams license adds.

Vonage sells Global Calling Plans as minute bundles. Its Tier 1 countries include the UK, Mexico and Canada, and bundles start at 1,000 minutes for $50 a month (5 cents a minute) and run to 100,000 minutes for $4,120. Tier 2 starts at 1,000 minutes for $110. Vonage's page names a few countries in each tier and does not say where India or the Philippines fall. Unused minutes do not roll over, and regular international rates apply once the bundle runs out.

Dialpad has a Global Unlimited Calling add-on covering 65 countries, with 8,000 international minutes per license per month. Its help article does not print the price.

Ooma Office says it offers bundle plans, including 500-minute and unlimited ones, but the rates page shows only per-minute prices.

How the minutes get billed

Ooma bills international calls from a Prepaid Account. If the balance is short, the call does not go through until you add funds, and you can set the account to top itself up.

Dialpad's rates page says calls are billed per minute and applies to Dialpad Connect seats. Its Support and Sell seats are charged differently even inside the US.

Google Voice for Workspace bills international calls in US dollars through Google Workspace Telecom, converted to whatever currency you pay Google in. Google posts its rate changes on a separate page. The latest, effective July 1, 2026, raised China to $0.30 a minute and dropped Puerto Rico to $0.

Grasshopper opens international calling only to customers who have been with it for more than 60 days, and you have to contact support to switch it on. Its rate page lists Caribbean and US-territory destinations with prices. Mexico, the UK and India appear in its list of countries you can call, without a rate.

Canada

Quo, Dialpad and Ooma include calls to Canada with the plan, and Google Voice's rate is $0. RingCentral's rate table says only "Please refer to our pricing table" for Canada, and Nextiva's table has no Canada entry. If most of your calls go north, Can a Canadian business go by U.S. cloud phone prices? covers the other direction.

Before you pick a provider for international calls

Pull a month of call records and split the international minutes by country and by landline or mobile. That gives you the numbers to multiply against the first table. The seat price is a separate question. The seat cost calculator handles that part, and How do the big cloud phone services differ on price and features? compares the plans themselves.
